The Inca Trail that goes through the Gran Vilaya is the same that reaches the famous Inka Trail to Machu Picchu. It was build by the Incas in order to conquer the Northern territories of the Chachapoya. The trail has a lot of attractions such as many hidden ruins on the sides of the trail, beautiful landscapes, intact surrounding nature, the trail is preserved in excelent conditions, the temperature is very suitable as it is located in the cloud forest and for some tourists it is very important that they hardly find other trekkers on their way.

Exploring the Chachapoya Territory

The tour begins in the coastal city of Chiclayo and goes the way down through the Utcubamba valley to the cloud forest. Visit of the fortress of Kuelap, the graves of Revash and the Mallqui Museum of Leimebamba. Throgh the Marañón Canyon to Celendín and then to Cajamarca, enjoying the landscapes of the highlands. Visit of the «Ventanillas de Otuzco».
